Soha Ali Khan



Soha Ali Khan (born Soha Ali Khan Pataudi on 4 October 1978) is a Bollywood actress best known for her role of Sonia in Rang De Basanti (2006) for which she also received awards. She is daughter of veteran Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore. Khan was born into the erstwhile princely family of Pataudi. She is of Afghan origin, who has ethnic Pashtun ancestry through her Nawab of Pataudi lineage from her father's side and Bengali Hindu ancestry from her mother's side. Both her father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and paternal grandfather, Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, are former captains of the Indian cricket team. Her mother, Sharmila Tagore and her brother Saif Ali Khan are Bollywood actors while her sister Saba Ali Khan is a jewellery designer. She attended The British School, New Delhi and read geography at Balliol College, Oxford and earned a Masters degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Khan spent her childhood in a Muslim atmosphere, reading the Quran, with her grandmother Sajida Sultan, Begum of Bhopal being the centre of her religious education.
